The project, divided into three main parts, encompasses the entire Northern Cyprus. These three main parts are, in order: The Girne Ring Road, 11,369 meters in length with 2x2 lanes, and a platform width that ranges between 18.00 and 23.00 meters. A 7,400-meter section of the project will pass around 1,000 m south of the Girne - Alsancak coastal road, while the final 4,000-meter section will follow the current route. The Girne Ring Road is an important artery in the TRNC Road Network, alleviating traffic congestion in Girne and linking Lefkoşa with Alsancak and Lapta, and Güzelyurt with Girne. A series of interchanges along the project route ensure a safe connection with residential areas and between main and side roads.
The second grade route runs for 80,841 meters in total, with a 60,010-meter section between Dörtyol-Geçitkale-Girne Exit-Kaplıca-Büyükkonuk-Çayırova and a 20,831-meter section between (Kaplıca-Yenierenköy) Exit. - Balalan - (Ziyamet-Yenierenköy) Exit. The 2x1 lane road has a platform width of 8 meters. The route starts from the Lefkoşa - Gazimağusa crossroad and runs north towards the Girne - Kaplıca crossroad at 24+000 kilometers, where it turns east and ends at the Ziyamet exit at the 60+010 kilometers. The second stage of the Northern Coastal Road is of particular importance due to its contribution to the tourism potential and the economic development of the region. In addition, improvements to the physical and geometrical features are expected to increase traffic safety and reduce transportation costs.
The 16,616-meter Gazimağusa dual carriageway is designed as a 2x2 lane road. Platform width varies between 18.50 and 24.50 meters. The project starts from the Eastern Mediterranean University at the Mağusa exit, runs 600 meters into Geçitkale, Ercan, Lefkoşe exit and ends at 16+616 kilometers. The new road will mainly comprise extensions to the right and left of the existing route. There are 2 bridges on the project’s route. The existing Gazimağusa - İskele road is 10 meters in width and paved with bitumen hot mix.
The project was completed in 4 years, and reached a maximum staff of 300.
